Aidan Bayer

Aidan Bayer, Co Editor and Chief

As one of my first ventures in the newly formed Journalism Class, I interviewed fellow Editor and Chief Aiden Bayer. I began the interview by asking him why he chose to sacrifice a study hall for journalism. He responded, "I took journalism because I have a love for writing and putting my ideas and opinions out there. And I do not want to take math." Then, I inquired as to what he participates in at Marmion, to which he replied that he is the commander of the drill team. My next question was: "Do you have a favorite Marmion memory or experience?" Without a second thought, he said, "Going down to Daytona for a drill competition." I then asked him if he had any advice for the incoming freshman class based on his three years of experience as a cadet. He pondered for a moment, then responded, "Put your head down, get your work done, and then have fun." I concluded the interview by bombarding him with questions about his future: "What do you plan to do after you leave Marmion? Where do you want to go to college? What do you want to study?" Understandably, he paused for a moment to think, and then he optimistically told me that he plans to go to SIU to study automotive technology.
